• School Safety & Security

    A safe school is a place where learning can occur in a welcoming environment free of intimidation, violence, and fear. Valley View School District 365U is dedicated to providing a safe environment for children so they can focus on learning and growing.

    The Safety and Security Department is committed to the safety and security of students, staff, and visitors within Valley View School District 365U schools. Professional development and collaborative partnerships are necessary to the success of the safety plan and emergency management efforts that include prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery procedures relevant to potential natural and human-caused crisis.

    Safe School Planning is a partnership that includes a working relationship with local emergency responders, community members, government leaders, social service networks, parents, and students. A safe school plan is a dynamic process that is comprehensive, evaluative and constantly evolving. Safe school planning is as much of a journey as it is a destination. Organizational capacity, professional development, and teamwork are formed and shaped during the journey.


    Reminder: No person shall bring any dog, except an official city, county or other law enforcement agency police dog or “service working dog” as that term is defined in the Americans with Disabilities Act (42 U.S.C. Sections 12101 et seq.), onto any public school property.

  • School Resource Officers

    Police officers are assigned to work full time at each of Valley View School District 365U middle and high schools. The police officers are contracted by the school district from the local community where the school is located. Bolingbrook and Romeoville police departments participate in this long-standing and effective program. The purpose of the School Resource Officer Program is to facilitate, promote, and help maintain a safe and secure environment in our schools that is conducive to providing a safe and effective learning environment.

    Safety Committee

    The Safety Committee is a group that aids and advises both management and employees on matters of safety and health pertaining to school operations. In addition, it performs essential monitoring, educational, investigative, and evaluative tasks.Meets at VVSD Administrative Center at 4:00pm.
