Welcome to Kindergarten!

My name is Allie McKenna, and this is my second year as a teacher. This will be my first year teaching Kindergarten at Jonas. E. Salk Elementary after previously teaching Kindergarten at Oak View Elementary in our district. I absolutely love teaching Kindergarten, and the staff and students of this district have made my teaching experience wonderful!

Before beginning my teaching career, I graduated from Taylor University in 2016 in Indiana with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a concentration on English as a Second Language. I look forward to opportunities in the near future to continue my education, but for now I am learning a great deal from my mentors in the district and the numerous professional development sessions our district has to offer.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband, traveling to visit family and friends, going on bike rides, baking new things, and practicing yoga.
