Hi, my name is Dana Hadley and I am the teacher in the cardinal room here at VVEC. Tweet tweet! I am excited to be embarking on my first year of teaching here in Romeoville. In May 2017, I graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood and have my English as a Second Language endorsement. Throughout the past four years, I have had a range of experiences working with children between the ages of birth to 7 years old including student teaching in preschool, kindergarten and first grade. I also volunteered in Colegio Ruben Castro elementary school in Chile during a study abroad trip and recently visited the schools in Reggio Emilia, Italy with a study group. Through these experiences, I have learned ways to better my teaching in order to help all students reach their full potential. I believe in creating a safe environment that enables students to engage in inquiry-based learning and hands-on investigations of their questions. My teaching philosophy is based on my belief that every child is capable and competent. Every child can reach his/her goals when provided with teacher supports and a safe, inquiry driven environment that utilizes the students’ strengths and embraces family involvement.
