Hello! My name is Melanie Zasadil and I am delighted to be part of Jonas Salk Elementary! Please visit this website often for important dates, reminders and information about our class and 4th Grade. 

My Education and Professional Background

I was born in Michigan where I completed my degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in language arts. Soon after graduation I moved to Arizona where I started my teaching career in sixth grade and the following year in fourth grade . I then returned back to the midwest to be closer to family and have spent the past three years teaching 5th and 4th grade at VVSD. 

My Educational Philosophy

I believe in creating a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment for my students. All students are capable of learning and making progress, and it is my goal to help all of my students reach their potential. I believe in creating a classroom community where students work together as a team. We celebrate successes and learn from our mistakes. It is important to me that my students develop a love for learning that will positively benefit their lives for years to come.
