I graduated from Illinois State University in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in English Education and a second bachelor’s degree in History. I have a Learning Behavior Specialist 1 endorsement from the University of St. Francis. I started teaching in 2015 as a long term substitute at different schools and a History teacher at Sam Sublett Alternative High School, which resides within a juvenile detention facility. I have been teaching at BHS since 2018. I am the head Freshman football coach. My path to teaching came in an unconventional way. I worked in a butcher shop during/after high school and during college. My job was to train many of the new employees and I really enjoyed seeing their success. From this experience, I decided I wanted to make a bigger impact and teach my passions. Outside of school, I spend my time reading, catching up on shows, playing board games, and spending time with family. My favorite books are the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
