Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Jennifer Weber

First and foremost, I am a mother of two incredible children.  My son, Jonny, is the oldest, and my daughter, Gracie, is my baby.  They are my greatest joy.

This is my first year teaching at Jane Addams Middle School, and I will be teaching at Humphrey Middle School next year.  Having taught all grades K-12, I have decided that middle school is where it's at!  My art students are as excited and enthusiastic about art as the elementary kids, but they are more independent and brave in their artistic choices like the high schoolers.  As an art educator, I compare a child's individual aesthetic to handwriting.  Just as there are rules about spelling and grammar when writing, there are techniques to be learned in the art room. Everyone must demonstrate a willingness to learn and the ability to experience the visual arts, but creativity and individualism in art is the same as creating a unique style of handwriting.  All students will be asked to relate what they learn in my classroom to their environment outside of school.  It is my goal for all students to recognize the personal impact visual culture has in their lives, and to identify that emotional connection to the art world.

Aside from teaching, I love all things photography related and can be found either watching the Rocky and Creed franchise or reading a good True Crime novel.
