Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Susie Gray

My name is Susie Gray and I have been a teacher at the Early Childhood Center for 14 years! I have a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Special Education from the University of Illinois, a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University and I have also completed my English Language Learner’s Certificate.

I live in Joliet with my husband and two sons; Tyler is 4 and typically developing . Zach is 2 and has been in Early Intervention since he was 5 months old, so I understand the teaching side and the parenting side of special education.

I am very excited to be teaching your child this year. I will work hard to get to know your child’s likes, dislikes, strengths and needs in order to help them have the most successful year possible. I feel strongly that communication is the key to successful relationships and a successful school year for both children and adults. Because of this, I will strive to keep an open, inviting line of communication with all families. I also encourage family members to come into the classroom regulary.

In the bluebird room, your child will learn and experience the environment through hands on learning. Each child’s interests will be addressed and utilized in order to make learning meaningful to each and every student. My goal is to meet every child at their individual level of development and help them reach their full potential in each area of learning: Social Emotional, Literacy, Math, Cognitive/problem solving, Science, Social Studies, Physical, and the Arts.
