Driver Education Program A Spring Online Class, with Summer Behind the Wheel
Driver Education Program A is a program where students attend the classroom portion of the course remotely (online) on Zoom and utilizing the Google classroom platform from April 19 - May 25 on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays and the behind the wheel portion of the course will be conducted in-person June 21 - July 1 at Romeoville High School.
Eligibility to Enroll in Program A:
In order to be eligible to register for Driver Education, the student MUST 1) have passed eight (8) courses during the immediate past two (2) semesters (semester 2 of last school year and semester 1 of this school year); AND 2) be 15 years of age or older on April 19, 2021.
A limited number of spots in this program will be available to students. Seniors will be selected first, then juniors, then sophomores, then freshmen on a first-come, first-serve basis. Once Program A is full, all future registrants will be placed on a waiting list. Registration will take place on-line via a Google form that will be posted on the Bolingbrook and Romeoville High School websites at 9:00 am on Friday, March 12. Registration will end on Friday, March 26 at 9:00 am. We will contact you if you have been selected for the course.
The course fee is $250.00. Only in-district-students will be permitted to enroll in Program A. There is an additional $20 fee for your instruction permit made payable to the Illinois Secretary of State (ILSOS) and will be paid by you at the time the parent/guardian takes their teen to the driver’s license facility to get the permit. Must obtain an instruction driving permit before the first day of behind the wheel instruction. More information on instruction permits will be provided to students once the classroom portion begins.

Full refunds will be made when cancellations are received seven days (1 week) prior to the start of the class.
NO REFUND WILL BE GIVEN AFTER THAT POINT.
If you are a Bolingbrook student, fee payment is to be paid to the office of the BHS bookstore.

The classroom portion of Driver Education will be held remotely (online) from April 19 - May 25 on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Monday classes will be from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Tuesday and Wednesday classes will be from 3:15 pm - 5:15 pm.
Class will meet on the following dates:
April 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, 28
May 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19, 24, 25
Please note: Only two (2) absences are allowed in the online classroom portion of Program A. In the event of a third absence, student(s) would have the opportunity to attend a make-up day on May 26. If the student does not attend this make-up day, it will result in an automatic drop from the course and no credit earned and no refund given. A fourth absence will result in an automatic drop from the course and no credit earned and no refund given.
Behind the Wheel Training (BTW):
BTW training will be provided to students who completed the online classroom portion during the dates listed
June 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 28, 29, 30
BTW training will be held at Romeoville High School for all students. Your student will only be required to
attend the period they signed up for or were assigned when they registered.
Period 1: 7:30 - 9:30 am
Period 2: 9:40 - 11:40 am
Period 3: 12:20 - 2:20 pm
*Please note that the periods of behind the wheel times are on a first come, first serve basis when you register for the course and once a BTW period fills up with a max of 30 students, you will be assigned the period/behind the wheel time(s) that are available.
Location of Behind the Wheel Training: Romeoville High School ONLY
Please note: Only one (1) BTW absence is allowed. A second absence will result in an automatic drop from the course and no credit earned and no refund. Student(s) must inform their instructor ahead of time if they need to miss the last day of behind the wheel instruction.
Please note that there are 60 available spots at Bolingbrook High School and 30 available spots at Romeoville High School for the classroom portion of the course. Once these classes are full, all registrants will be put on a waiting list. In addition, please note that these dates/times are contingent upon any future guidance from ISBE (Illinois State Board of Education) and IDPH (Illinois Department of Public Health) due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
