Romeoville Business Owner Makes Donation to Enhance VVSD STEM Programs

Mr. Mohammed Qurashi Secures ExxonMobil Donation for 14^th Year in a Row

In each year of the last 14 years, Mohammed Qurashi has donated $500 to math and science programs in Valley View Schools on behalf of the ExxonMobil Educational Alliance Program.

A.Vito Martinez Middle School is the 2026 beneficiary of ExxonMobil’s generosity and Mr. Qurashi’s dedication to supporting his community.  Mr. Qurashi is the Owner and President of the Romeoville Mobil station located at 135^th St. and Illinois Route 53. AVM will use the money to help supplement the school’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) program and activities.

AVM Principal Bill Normand accepted the donation on behalf of Martinez Middle School saying, “We appreciate Mr. Qurashi’s longstanding and continuous commitment to our schools and our community.  He has a deep understanding of the importance of educating students in the sciences and math, and the path that education creates to careers in technology and engineering.”

The ExxonMobil Educational Alliance Program seeks to create “aha” moments for students by providing STEM funds to schools all over the country.  Since the inception of this national program, ExxonMobil has committed over $40 million to supporting STEM programs in schools.
