VVSD Staff Spotlight- Erica Gittleson, Kindergarten Teacher, Skoff Elementary

“What Do You Want to be When You Grow Up” is a question everyone answers multiple times during their lifetime.  For many teachers, they decided when they were very young that being a teacher was a goal that was set while they were in elementary school. Often, this happened thanks to a teacher they admired or by whom they were inspired.

Skoff Kindergarten teacher Erica Gittleson grew up wanting to be a teacher for those very reasons. Erica began her career as a fourth grade teacher. From there, Erica became an Instructional Coach. It was the work as coach that allowed Erica to see every grade level in action, and that’s when she saw the grade she really wanted to teach, and that grade is Kindergarten.
