VVSD Staff Spotlight- Martin Bany, Paraprofessional, McGee Elementary

April is Paraprofessional Appreciation Month honoring paraprofessional educators, who are also known as paras, instructional assistants, or teacher aides. Paraprofessionals perform a variety of teaching-related jobs and often assist teachers in classrooms.

In recognition of the valuable role parapros fill in VVSD, we introduce you to McGee Elementary Paraprofessional Martin Bany.  As the parent of a special needs child, Martin brings his personal experience to the Multi-Needs Team at McGee. Martin also says that what he learns on the job helps him at home in meeting the needs of his son.

In the video, we also learn from Martin that like his own father, Martin is an accomplished jazz drummer who started to play at three years old and has had the honor of meeting, and sometimes performing with some of the biggest talents in the world of jazz music.
