VVSD Staff Spotlight- Tracey Strzempa, 3rd Grade Teacher, Wood View Elementary
Even though the specifics do not appear in any teachers’ contract, anywhere, or in any place, one of the most important responsibilities of a teacher is to make sure the chain of learning remains unbroken. That is, teachers are responsible for inspiring their students in the same way that teacher was inspired by a teacher in a classroom years ago.
Wood View Elementary Third Grade Teacher Tracey Strzempa is an example of that unbroken chain. Tracey was inspired to become a teacher by her Humphrey Middle School 6th Grade Math Teacher (and former VVSD Board Member) Debbie Sykora. Tracey is now a 26-year teaching veteran. On occasion Tracey meets adults in the community who once sat in her classroom- and thank her for inspiring them.
