Lukancic 8th Grader Combines Cookies, Community Generosity and Thanks to Teachers

Meredith Ligeski

Lukancic 8th grade student Meredith Ligeski created a novel approach in her annual Girl Scout Cookie sales.  When it comes to sales, we all know the key is to find a way to get the buyer to say, “Yes”.  At the suggestion of her mother, Meredith created just such a path to success.

One of the easiest ways to say “no” to a Girl Scout Cookies sales pitch are the time-honored excuses: “I’m watching my weight,” “I’ll only eat them myself’” and “I’m still trying to work off the after effects of the Holidays.”  What was Meredith’s brilliant countering sales pitch? She offered buyers a chance to purchase a box which she would then donate to the teachers at Lukancic.

Watch the Video! to hear more details from Meredith and see her deliver one of the 61 boxes sold for donation to a teacher.
