Research demonstrates that students learn a variety of human interaction skills through play.  Those skills include collaboration, reasoning, interpreting rules, resolving disputes, and teamwork.

Hermansen Elementary School participated in the Global School Day of Play.  Within their classroom, students we able to pick from a variety of activities with only one hard and fast rule: No Electronic Screens.

Along with Hermansen Principal Ms. Loretta Furtute, we visited the 5th grade classroom of Ms. Kellie Allen and Mrs. Allison Uscila.  We visited with students as they explain what they were learning by playing the game Monopoly, and we watched the end of a game of Jenga amongst future engineers.
